Drs. Dobbins and Letourneau believe very strongly that regularly scheduled eye exams are among the eye doctor Eudora, KSmost important features of a successful vision and eye health regimen. For adults, routine eye exams are important because common eye conditions, such as glaucoma, retinopathy and macular degeneration are associated with the adult population, especially those over 40. Since these conditions may show only slight symptoms, and often show none at all, regularly scheduled comprehensive eye examsin Eudora, Kansas, including proper screenings for these and other common adulthood eye conditions, are required to prevent significant visual damage, and even eventual blindness.
Eye exams for children are also extremely improtant for a number of reasons. With Drs. Dobbins and Letourneau, your child's school-readiness eye exam will be much more than a simple eye chart reading. There are many other essential school-readiness skills they will check for, such as eye teaming ability, hand-eye coordination and peripheral awareness. They will also screen your child for eye conditions such as strabismus and amblyopia. These conditions can do serious damage if not treated in a timely fashion, and often show in childhood.
Our trusted Eudora eye doctors, Dobbins and Letourneau, are expert in treating dry eye syndrome as well. Dr. Letourneau explains, “Dry eye syndrome occurs when the eye is unable to create enough tears to coat the eye. Alternatively, the eye may indeed produce enough tears, but these tears are not built properly, leaving the eye dry and uncomfortable. A number of effective treatments are available for this condition, and we invite the whole Eudora community to come in for a visit and see what an incredible difference we can make.”
